Fighting Lust is an incredibly hot and steamy read, but it is more than just that, it is a book that makes you feel. Both Tessa and Ryder experienced great tragedy in their past that effect them to this day. Because of the tragedies in their past both main characters are addicted to lust, they like to hook up with people and keep it at just that, random hookups so no one gets too close. Ryder is afraid to give himself to anyone and Tessa feels she is undeserving of love. Ryder and Tessa begin as a random hookup but it is one that quickly brings Ryder to his knees. Ryder has an instant draw towards Tessa and he knows he has to make her his, but can he convince her to give him a chance? Ryder’s pursuit of Tessa is endearing, he really gives it his all in proving to her that she should take a chance on him, on what is between them. Both of their pasts come to light threatening the shaky ground their burgeoning relationship is being founded on. What happens? I’ll leave that to you to find out! This is one addictively amazing read. Ryder is an amazing book boyfriend, for sure. I also want to mention that there is a ton of funny laugh out loud moments sprinkled throughout this book. The secondary characters were all enjoyable additions to the story. This is a book in a series but it is a standalone and you do not need to have read any of the other books, I didn’t and did not feel like I was missing anything. 4 stars to this addictive read.
