My rating: 4 of 5 stars
So I must admit that this isn’t usually the type of book that shouts out to me that I must read it but that being said it was actually a good book. I was unfamiliar with this author before being contacted and asked to review this book so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I will tell you that the writing is excellent, very descriptive and full of sophistication. The characters and their story are very well developed. To say that this book is a bit of a mind**** is an understatement, it is full of twists and turns that will hook you right in. Nico is definitely a character that you are going to find easy to dislike, deep down he is just this terribly rotten guy that thinks nothing of using women, not only that but he has these women so into him that they don’t even realize how they are being used. I really felt bad for the way these women were being treated and I almost wanted to jump into the pages and break them free of his spell. To actually intensely dislike a character I think you have to be invested in the story, the writer has to make you feel like you are a part of it and I feel like Luna does that here. I won’t say much more about the characters or storyline because I don’t like to give out any spoilers, what I will say is that it’s definitely not a light read, it gets deep and dark, it is full of substance and will mess with your mind but it is worth it! 4 stars to The Sleeping Serpent.
